Lesson learned

One of the biggest lessons I ever learned was taught to me by my little sister. One night after everybody went to sleep she got up and snuck some people into our house. My mom got up to get something to drink whenever she heard them. She ran into to Katies room and kicked out the kids that were there and took away Katies phone for a month, and grounded her for a month and a half. I woke up the next morning and heard about it. That whole thing with Katie taught me that you shouldn't try to do anything behind your parents back because they will find out. If you don't think they will your wrong.

comma what

My father had left our house in the midst of a fight between Lindsey and my mother. My mother was trying to get Lindsey to go with her to the Y to swim. Without thinking, Lindsey had blared, "I'd rather die!" at the top of her lungs. My father watched as my mother froze, then burst, fleeing to their bedroom to wail behind the door. He quietly tucked his notebook in his jacket pocket, took the car keys off the hook by the back door, and snuck out.

Gossip

I think that if I triple filtered everything than my conversations would be less about other people and more about important things. I think that people choose to talk about other people because it makes them feel cool and special, like they are the one that figured this out and needs to tell everybody about it before somebody else does.

Story Spinners: Option 1

As the old man approached my friends and me we noticed that he walked barefoot and looked like he hadn't taken a shower in weeks maybe even months. We immediately stopped what we were doing and ran back into the house. The old man stood outside and picked up the snacks our mothers had packed us. Our mothers had always told us to never talk to strangers but we decided that we had to go get our food back. We walked back out to the man and asked him what his name was and why he was stealing our food, his response was this "My name is David and I am homeless."
We had never met a homeless person before but this one seemed alright so we let him keep the snacks, than brought him out a glass of lemonade. My mother, when she left, had left me in charge of my little brother Travis, he was three years old and was deaf. We were talking to David about what it was like to be homeless whenever Travis walked outside and started trying talking to us. It sounded like he was speaking gibberish, and it was even worse because he was crying.
After I put Travis down to take a nap, we decided we wanted to try and help David get a home. So we went and got a flashlight from inside, and than went out to the garage and got our bicycles. As we rode around town trying to find a place where David could stay, we found an old, abandoned warehouse. We left our bikes outside and went to have a look around the warehouse. It had a bunch of old stuff in it and we decided that it would make a perfect place for David to stay and for us to hang out. We found an old mattress and set it up for David to sleep on than we found an old trampoline in one of the rooms upstairs. We ended up staying there the rest of the day just hanging out and having fun. At the end of the day we decided to lay out on top of the building and just watch the clouds float by but, the best thing about it was knowing that we found a place for David to live.

Lovely Bones ?'s

Susie's father meant that the penguin was inside this snow globe that was like his own little world where no mistakes could happen and nothing could ever go wrong. I don't think Susie considers herself trapped because she can still see Earth and she can find ways to show herself to her family. I don't think Susie thinks her world is perfect because it doesn't have the people that she loves in it and because all that there is in her world is death.

She decided that this summer was going to be great. She was going to leave behind this small town and take a Grayhound Bus to sunny California. Whenever she was on her way she met many different people. She meant a boy named Brian who was going to the same place she was. He was 16 and was going to visit his family. They got to Oxford, California and got a taxi. They split the money between them and than rode together. Whenever she got to her aunts house she saw her uncles red Ford Mustang with a note saying she could take it and have fun. She quickly put away her stuff than carefully drove to the beach. When she got there she laid her towel out and watched the blue waves roll by. Brian showed up and asked her if she wanted to go walk along the beach with him. As they were walking across the white sand she started to pick up all the seashells she could see. There were pink ones and gray ones, and big ones and small ones. While they were walking she stepped on a piece of glass. Ouch! She yelled and Brian looked at it and decided to take the glass out than drive her to the doctor. He delicately took the piece out than carried her to his car and drove her to the hospital.

Shakespeare language

Kinslie thou art a carl. Thee should become a crow-keeper, thou art daff in thyself for thou is a daubery. Thou have a bern and thee should defeat so that no one can recognize thee. For if thee is found than thou shall be emboss and endeared for everyone to see.

You should be women, and yet your beards forbid me to interpret that you are so. It means that he thinks they should be women because they act like women but they all
have beards so he knows they aren't.

Quotes to Think About

I think that poet Ralph Waldo Emerson was referring to the fact that it takes different amount of things to make a person mad. Some people might take a lot more than other people to make mad. It just matters which person it is.

9-11 bellringer

I was in second grade and was in Mrs. Mills class. I don't really remember the weeks following 9/11 except that the school talked about it a lot. I remember hearing that nothing this bad had ever really happened in the United States and that the whole country was grieving. I think we will still be remembering 9/11 because it was such a drastic thing and because it showed that you can knock us down but we will get right back up and come at you 10 times harder. I think the terrorists chose to attack America because we are such a strong country and we are very good about holding ourselves together not another country is really like that. I knew one person that lost a mom in 9/11 she was my best friend at the time and when she found out I cried with her. If I wrote a story about 9/11 than I would do it from the people in it point of view and it would be about the terror and the severity of the attack.

friendship bellringer

If I had to choose between my morals or my friendship with someone I would choose my morals. I could always find new friends or hope that maybe my friend might understand why i can't do that. I think it's more important to be proud of yourself and to go by your morals than to do what someone wants you to do.

The Lovely Bones

I think that this book is going to be a good book to read. It seems like it has a lot of surprising twists and turns in it. I think the idea that a girl being murdered and than going to heaven and helping her parents and the police find who killed her and where her body is, is a good idea. It shows that even though someone dies they never really leave.

Why Blog?

I think that we could use blogging so that we could practice on our writing. We could also use it to see other peoples blogs and learn about all the things they write about
